Case 60: Acute Pancreatitis || Ultrasound

          

Clinical Features:

A middle-aged female patient came with epigastric severe pain & vomiting.


Ultrasound Features:

- Pancreas is swollen & heterogeneously hypoechoic.

- Mild peripancreatic collection is noted.


Ultrasound Diagnosis:

Acute pancreatitis.


Remember:

Echogenicity of a normal pancreas is greater than normal liver, spleen & renal parenchyma.
